![]() ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ Things went bad quickly and without warning. No one is entirely sure how it started. Some speculate that classified government dealings went terribly wrong and resulted in sudden and violent war. Others suggest that the economy imploded and anarchy was born from its ashes. Even more assume that nuclear bombs eradicated machines with electromagnetic radiation. What is certain is that about forty years ago, communications everywhere were annihilated. Large power stations were taken out first, and then smaller structures over the course of a few months. The ensuing chaos plunged mankind into virtual darkness. World powers suddenly accounted for nothing and the ensuing wars involved several antagonists at once. For a long time, there were only those who fought and those who ran. Forty years later, the damage is done. The city of Manhattan is a decaying corpse of its former self, and although the fighting is not as bad as it once was, most people agree that the war is still raging. Some want to rebuild, some want to maintain the anarchy. Where will you stand? ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ m a n h a t t a n SCOURGE -------------------- There, but for the grace of God, goes Aloysius Wolfe.
