Appearance: Muireann is a fading, haunting Irish beauty. She is somewhere in her vague twenties or early thirties, impossible to tell, really. Her eyes are old, her body is young, she can seem as fresh or as world-weary as she likes at any moment. She has faint smiling lines around her mouth and at the corners of her eyes, and red hair that insists on going every which way and can'tt decide whether it wants to lie flat, wave, or curl. Her eyes are sometimes seagreen, sometimes seablue, and sometimes stormy. Her skin is pale and often sunburnt in the summer, smeared with freckles. She has a fine, small chest and wide hips, with a gently rounded belly perfect for grabbing (but not recommended, as her heels are always booted for a sharp kick). She looks bood enough to gobble up, but also as if she may give one indigestion.



Personality/Archetype: Some suggest that whether or not the Dockwitch agrees to help you might have more to do with simply how well you please her, more than the payment at all. Whether this can be accomplished with having a pretty face, with poetry, with coin...that depends on the day. She is capricious and passionate, and has been known to break hearts and faces with equal vigor and complete lack of shame. She has been known to fly into a fury at being refused or disappointed; at the same time, she has received betrayals and setbacks with a calm, almost aloof demeanor that everyone wonders at. She seems to have some code of ethics but rarely dusts it off. Music, good food, and dancing are among her principle pleasures, along with gifts of stones and shining metals. She adores dancing, and will often reward a good fiddle player with a smile, a favour, or a kiss.

She often wears pieces of jewellery with pretty polished stones in them, favouring greens, blues, and pale purple. She has a fascination with anything very, very old.

She dislikes being questioned, and being touched by men who don't ask first. Being refused makes her surly. She cannot abide being taken for granted, and yet to openly thank her will often set her off as well. Small dogs unnerve her, but she gets on fine with rats.

Short History: Nobody knows where Muireann came from Indeed, tales are pretty patchy as to when. All anyone knows is that she's been around for as long as they can recall. The rare dockman to survive to an old age will suppose he might have known her as a young girl, but most say she was born hissing and spitting and the age she is now. She has money - not much, but enough. She's never mentioned how she gets it, most assume she's a prostitute. However, nearly everyone has made a deal with her once or twice. She knows what's going on, when the ships are coming in and what they're carrying (above and below the law's eye), who's doing what (or who) and what schemes are promising and which are scams. All everyone knows is that if you want to know something happening on the Docks, the Seawhite Witch is the one you want to see. Just bring a gift (in addition to payment, if ye can manage), and keep your hands to yourself.

Motivations/Goals: It's unclear if Muireann has any definite long-term goals. Or if she does, they often switch and change from day to day. She occasionally involves herself in schemes and every now and again will set to accomplish something, but she takes both success and disappointment depending on her mood that moment. Many have observed that she is in this as in any other aspect as changeable as the sea.
